What is a Tongue and Lip Tie?

Typically, most people have a piece of tissue that anchors the tongue to the floor of the mouth and another that attaches the lip to the mouth. These tissues are referred to as “frenums” or a “frenulums”.

Frenums in some people can be thicker and/or shorter and can in turn cause decreased movement of the lips, tongue or cheeks resulting in dysfunction. Tongue and lip ties are congenital defects that can affect every age group.

NoCo Tongue Tie Studio offers a quick and precise procedure to release these tissues in infants and children.
